Inspired by backpacking to Windy Pass in Mt. Rainier National Park.  This painting is my largest work to date, and one of the first in a series that is a new direction for me.  Lately I'm painting bigger and with more intuitive expression, letting one step lead to the next.  Standing with your face up close to this painting in person, it is hard to tell what the subject matter is.  It falls apart and becomes just abstracted pieces of color.  You are invited by the painting to find your own path and fill in your own details.
