Gear Show-and-Tell and Paint Out!

Service Description

This is a No Cost event, RSVPs appreciated. Gear presentation will begin at 10am! You are welcome to chime in with your favorite gear hacks! After the Show and Tell, you are invited to stay and paint at outside the studio. There's a pond, rolling fields, cottonwood trees and partial views of Cougar Mountain and Squak Mountain looming in the distance. If the weather isn't great, we'll set up a still life or two in the studio. Whether you want to start painting outdoors or are already a plein air painter looking for lighter gear- come to this Show and Tell! You'll learn about quality, price, and weight of all the stuff you can take with you in the field. HINT: My very favorite pieces of gear are not even meant to be for art! This is the info that I wish I had had when I started painting. You'll laugh at some of the heavy dinosaur stuff I had on my first plein air bicycle trip compared to my compact lightweight kit I take now. I'll be showing you many styles of field easels and talking about the pros and cons of each one. You'll get an idea of what to look for in a tripod, easel, wet painting carrier. You'll get to shop from my used, handmade, or duplicate stock of plein air gear! Mostly, you'll have a fun time with other painters!
