Even after living in the Seattle area more than 22 years, I'm still in awe of being able to drive an hour east to the top of a mountain pass or an hour west to the water of the Puget Sound.

Although I travel all over the world to gather painting inspiration, I keep coming back to painting these mountains and coastlines of ours.  If I need to get out of the studio, I can call up a couple artist friends and head out to paint Mt. Rainier, the Skagit Tulip Fields, or Snoqualmie Falls. If I need some solitude, I can chuck my custom -made carbon fiber easel and a few tubes of oil paint into my backpack and hike 4 miles to paint an Alpine Lake.
