Vibrant Florals in Oil
Tuesdays, 1:00-3:30pm beginning October 14 (4 weeks)
Service Description
If you are looking to make art friends, be inspired, and improve your oil painting skills, this semi-private class is for you! This class is for beginners with a least some oil painting experience up to intermediate oil painters looking to hone your skills in color harmony, values, and edges. Each of the 4 weeks, we'll paint from new bouquets of flowers! You'll get a lot of guidance and one-on-one help from Britt since class size is limited to just 4 students. Painting from real life in the studio is an excellent way to keep your plein air skills sharp during the cold and rainy season. If you've never painted en plein air before (painting the scene in front of you outdoors rather than from a reference photo), this is a fantastic way to transition into it! You get to see real life color, but without the challenge of light and weather conditions changing rapidly! What's included? Lot's of personal attention! I will provide: bio-based thinner/solvent and an easel to use if you don't have one What to bring: Paint: Titanium White (preferably fast dry formula) (large tube) Ultramarine Blue Alizarin Crimson Azo (or cadmium) yellow Iron red oxide Teal or turquoise quinacridone rose quinacridone violet azo coral Indian yellow canvases or panels size 8x10 to 11x14 (your preference! we will use one per session) brushes-- your choice of assortment .
