Painting the Landscape
April 23-24, 2022

Britt Greenland Gallery

301 W North Bend Way

North Bend, Washington 98045

The Details

Jumpstart your painting with a weekend of fun and learning!  We'll explore the principals of landscape painting, and then put them into practice immediately.

This class is designed for beginner to intermediate acrylic and oil painters.

By the end of the weekend, you'll be able to design your paintings better,

create a sense of space in your landscape, achieve yummy color harmony, and loosen up (if that's a goal of yours) through simple techniques.

Class size is limited to 8 students to give plenty of one-on-one support.

The format of the class will include

(1) taking notes as I demonstrate

(2) question and answer at any point

(3) you at the easel with guidance

(4) a "happy hour" wrap-up on the last day :)

In this class, we'll use reference photos.

However, this workshop is the perfect precursor to my Beginner Plein Air (painting what's in front of you outdoors) workshop -- date TBD

APRIL 23-24 Sat -Sun 10:00- 4:00 at Britt Greenland Gallery

Price: $285

Bring your sense of adventure and self-care!

A supply list will be sent to all registered students.

For those who don't have a portable standing easel, a limited # are available for use at the gallery on a first come, first served basis. (another reason to sign up early)

One last blip:  I strive to create the coziest, safest space for those with art anxiety.  Comparison is the enemy of joy!

"I wanted to commemorate my husband’s first glacier climb.  Britt helped me select a photo from the climb.  She helped me to realize the ‘what’ that I was trying to capture in a painting.  I selected a challenging scene of mostly glacier snow and ice.   Britt was able to show the texture of the snow as well as capture the action of the climbers as they move up the glacier.  I am absolutely thrilled with how the painting came out.  I definitely recommend her as a painter of commissioned art!"
